Rolex Air-Kingは、航空にインスパイアされたRolexのウォッチで、1945年に初めて発表されました。戦後、創業者のHans Wilsdorfは、第二次世界大戦中に英国空軍の隊員がRolexの時計に寄せた信頼を背景に、視認性を最優先した一連のAirモデルを作らせました。現行の40 mmモデルの文字盤は、RolexがBloodhound SSCのために製作したクロノグラフ・カウンターへのオマージュとしてデザインされています。「A Homage to Aviation」と「3, 6, 9 Black Dial」と題された動画ではこうしたデザインの細部を紹介し、ユーザーガイドでは時計の合わせ方を説明しています。以下の動画はRolex公式チャンネルのものです。
